Director, Tenting and Structure Sales - Corporate - Chicago

Job Description

Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, this position serves as Marquee’s premier sales authority on tenting, structure, flooring, HVAC and other large production solutions. The DTS works in conjunction with each of the branches to assist local sales in opportunities that exceed Account Executive capabilities. In addition, they are responsible for forging internal relationships and gaining the trust of all Marquee stakeholders. This is a critical component in the overall goal of delivering positive sales results, developing customer relationships, prioritizing customer satisfaction, and playing a key role in the development of Marquee’s sales force. The DTS will also research and recommend strategic purchases to support growth. Ability to perform in a fast paced, complex live event environment. This position is responsible for the coaching, development and on-going education of sales team members.

Essential Responsibilities
Revenue Capture
• In both a participant and individual contributor role, maximize Marquee sales potential in each opportunity
• Guides team in developing sales strategy and approach
• Actively participates in discovery calls to instill confidence with clients
• Creates, evaluates and assists in the presentation of proposals
• Acts as a Player/Coach to ensure each opportunity is closed
• Cultivates and maintains relationships with key clients

Team Development
• Evaluates and records performance of Account Executives on all calls
• Looks for opportunities to enhance seller knowledge of product and sales abilities
• Ensures complete understanding of company systems and tools
• Weekly pipeline review with market sales leaders/GMs
• Monitor and coach sellers through the participation in live customer interactions
• Hold quarterly progress meetings to deliver current progress towards yearly goals

Operational Excellence
• Develops achievable, detailed solutions that ensure both operational success and profitability
• Prioritize the sale of company assets and labor
• Coordinates with all stakeholders across the company network to build solutions
• Through the analysis of pre/post show data, consistently work to refine sales and operational procedures to maximize profitability

Company Direction
• Frequently suggests capital purchases that will produce desired returns
• Assists in annual budgeting process
• Provides marketing direction to attract large event opportunities
• Participates in leadership calls as scheduled
