5 Tips That Make Renting Event Barware Easy

This is a question we hear a lot at Marquee. Though there are many ways to approach this libation dilemma, fear not! We've narrowed it down to 5 easy ways to figure out how many glasses you will need for your next special event!
1. Know your event style.
The number and type of glasses you need depends on whether you're offering a full bar (cocktails, wine, and beer) or wine and beer only. It also depends on whether you're having a seated dinner or a buffet (and therefore no place settings).
2. Double your pleasure, double your fun.
A great rule of thumb is 2 wine glasses per person. Are you expecting more women than men at your event? Crank that number up a notch to 2.5 glasses per person. Fun fact, women traditionally drink more wine than men.
3. One is (not always) the loneliest number.
If you're serving mixed drinks, go with 1.5 glasses per person. Because who doesn't love a margarita? Mas tequila please, hold the salt.
4. À Votre Santé! (Cheers!)
Champagne toasts are a great way to acknowledge your guests (or persons of honor). Also a great reason to keep the party going if you know what we mean. Luckily, you only need 1 glass per person. Be safe and get 5-10 extra in case your Aunt Kathy has one too many. Things break and glass is fragile.
5. Know your crowd.
The most important thing is to understand your guests and their needs. If you have a group of folks that reeeaally like to party, you may want to rethink this strategy and consider increasing your numbers across the board. There is nothing worse than scrambling to find a sink to wash glasses because you didn't order enough #partyfoul. Err on the side of caution, order more. You won't regret it and your guests will thank you.
